About
THE DESIGNER
Zack Balmat is an American producer, screenwriter, and digital designer specializing in the development and packaging of commercially positioned film and television projects.
He developed a passion for storytelling at a young age, creating hand-drawn graphic novels before turning to film at San Diego State University, where he directed and starred in ZB TV, an unscripted cooking series.
After moving to Los Angeles, Balmat produced Rick Hester’s short film Saddam, which earned four festival nominations and won Best Ensemble at the 2024 IndieX Film Festival. Supported by a targeted investor pitch deck, the project attracted financing interest and is now in development as a feature, aiming for a 2026 production.
As a writer, Balmat has developed multiple feature and pilot scripts, including the sci-fi horror Murphy, crime thriller Rat, and dark comedy pilot Pimp. He also serves as a producer on Trent Dickens’ Southern Gothic horror The Lock and Nate Golon’s sci-fi drama 130 Million Breaths, where his investor-focused pitch deck helped attract producing partners and advance the film toward production.
